What’s Come Before
I’ve gone back and forth on the best way to present my photos and other images. Initially everything was under my main site using gallery2. Some of those images are still there. But having to maintain the software and all the nuances was a pain.
In 2007 I move to using SmugMug under the www.baah.net domain. This allowed me to not only have a third party manage the backend, but I also got the SaaS (Software as a Service) benefits. I maintain a “pro” account so I can customize the look and feel and set all the controls on what can be downloaded, etc.
In 2009 as I started to get more into HDR style images, I’ve also branched out to using Flickr where there is a lot of critique and feedback on images.
The Links
I’m always interested in how people get to my photography site. I envision them going to the main site, but since I also post a lot of blog entries I also expect them to come that way too. Here’s the main links that I currently maintain or are involved in:
The Main Photography Site – Only images by various galleries. Here is where images can be downloaded and/or bought.
Blog Site – Here I give a little bit more detail on a specific image, normally one per post.
Flickr – More or less an alternate photostream to my SmugMug site, where hopefully I’ll get more comments and feedback as to the images.
Sample Images
I take pictures of almost everything except portraits. For me, directing a landscape or the sun is easier than posing a person (and most pets!).
